Feature request: Title matching via unique identifiers if present

Hi all,

New user of Calibre, so please be gentle. I have created a library of 5000+ books from EPUB files. Most of these books come originally from Amazon Kindle books. I would like to add my Kindle content to this library and merge the book formats together into single book entries in Calibre.

At the moment it appears I am unable to do this as Calibre appears to be using the books title and author fields to work out if a book being added is a duplicate or not. To me this is not ideal as any difference in the title text or in my case the author (Calibre is LN, FN and the Kindle books come in as FN LN it seems), cause a new Calibre book entry for the Kindle format.

All my Calibre books have unique identifiers (either asin:BXXXXXXXXX or mobi-asin:BXXXXXXXXX). What I would like is an option adding to make Calibre attempt to match via a unique identifier in preference to the title/author etc. If it could match by unique identifier my books will match 100% with no issues due to spelling, punctation, format etc.

Thanks for listening.
