So I decided to reinstall again, the on click option but chose the KOReader version from April I think it was. That worked, icons there. Then I was able to have koreader check for update and install the August update and it still is working fine. Now just working through reinstalling plugins (ProjectTitle), setting fonts, spacing, etc the way I like it again. Then moving on to getting status bar the way I had it, etc etc. A pain this is, but it is coming along, slowly.
Then I will back to NickelMenu and get that configured as close as I remember it being as well.
