My rooted phone died, so I installed the Nook app on my new phone and now have my books downloaded there.

I asked Grok about getting access to them without root access and was referred here about a way to do so using adb backup. I enabled USB debugging and tried it as documented, but it didn't work. Perhaps Android 16 or B&N changed something?

What I tried was:

adb backup -f backup.ab bn.ereader

This did request me to confirm on the phone, but the resulting file contained:

ANDROID BACKUP
5
1
none

Anyone have further suggestions to get this to work?
