Kindles do not support epub.

Amazon's conversion via Send To Kindle (a service which doesn't support kindle formats!) has a size limit, may fail and isn't as good as Calibre conversion epub -> azw3 -> USB. Also it needs the Internet twice and may contravene copyright. Why does Amazon have this service that only works with non-Amazon formats?
