Thanks for your comment. The idea of bolding parts of words to guide the eyes isn’t new - it’s been used by many people over the years to help improve focus and reading speed. Bionic Reading made this approach popular recently, but they hold a trademark on the name, not the technique itself.

The term “Metaguiding” describes the broader concept of visually guiding readers, whether by using a pointer or by typographic cues like bolding. That’s the approach I follow, and I’m also working on new algorithms to add other visual clues other than bolding that might help even more in the future.

This is why I consider “Metaguiding” the proper name - it reflects the long-standing tradition of guiding the eyes, not just one branded implementation.
