Try the following:
  • Make sure to power off the device (long press on power button)
  • Connect a charger to the USB connecter
  • Press and hold for about 30 secs the power-button
  • The original square dots appear and you can re-initialize the device
Mind, you are now returned to an original (very) old firmware. It is best to install right now some previous FW like 4.38.23171 (available here) which will work.
Use for this the normal side-load FW update procedure.
