I added that URL just to see if I could get any reports from any others who might want to open it.

As for the usefulness of Kobo's emails? That is up to the end user.

As to the empty email sent to various users around the world? As near as I can tell from the 3 samples I've been sent, they are valid emails but with empty content suggesting an internal error at Kobo. If you open the URL for the email, it shows an empty page. Displaying the page source, shows nothing has been received.
