Some laptop batteries are a pain to replace. One friend of mine has a Dell laptop where Dell shows the battery as no longer available and a replacement he purchased via Amazon had his laptop showing an invalid battery and refuses to charge it. He finally found a new in-box Dell battery on eBay for ~4 times the cost which did work.
