I remember when Win 95 was released. Most people I knew were saying it was crap and refused to use it. I started using Win 95 right after it was released and did not regret it. Yes, it had problems, but it was still better than Win 3.1. You could actually multitask, there was native support for longer file names and memory management was better.
I think people as a group tend to resist change in anything. It is part of the human condition.
