For what it may be worth, I do not believe the new B variants will have buttons. They will look and behave just like the original but with updated electronics and likely a larger battery (2000mAH to match the P365 is my favourite possibility).

As for the software for Europe? That is already being tested as the 5.10 firmware for the Libra Colour and the Clara Colour/BW to meet EU accessibility requirements. So far, it is not what I consider quite ready for general release though switching from QT5 to QT6 is likely the cause of many of the deficiencies.

As for FCC approval because Kobo is headquartered in Canada? For Canada, the CAN ICES-003/NMB-003 listing is the important one. The FCC listing is only necessary for devices that would be marketed in the US.
