Jimmy James, when he came in London; as the compromise he took whitin his then producer (Chas Chandler) was to at least meet the Cream. And the myth says Chandler did it, Jimi flew within his just guitar and 40$; on a Cream's performance Chas asked to make him play, Clapton agreed but said there was no amp, so Jimi jacked to the bass' amp.
