Good news Nxtpaper 14 doesn't have the issue (However that puts me in doubt whether 11 Plus has good firmware or not, anyway I think I'll prefer to upgrade to a larger screen).

I don't get what you were trying to say. Android doesn't have such issue, older and newer versions, so either TCL replaced something or misconfigured something, either way it doesn't work due to TCL firmware bug.
