One friend of mine is grumbling about their Linux box. It was build about 10 years ago and is an x386 install. He decided he wanted to update and oopss... the distribution no longer exists. He tried several distributions booting from USB to see if they could do an update and no joy. At this time, it looks as if a wipe and reinstall is the only way for him to go partly since the filesystem was a ReiserFS variant and no longer supported and partly since he wants to upgrade to a 64 bit system.
