I'm on book 2 of the A Touch of Power series by Jay Boyce. 18 year old Jade has been bedridden and unable to walk since birth. She doesn't begrudge her parents showering most of their attention on her healthy younger brother. She's had tons of time to read and watch TV.

Then she wakes up in a medieval-ish world where magic is real and people can bring up HUD style displays in their vision, showing their vital stats, magical abilities, and skills. She sees that her special ability is Siphon. After any skin to skin contact with another person, she can see their stats and select one magical ability and one skill to siphon 1 point each from, and the person she takes from will sometime later get back an extra half point, so no lasting detriment.

Oh, just one problem. This world also has a multitude of deadly monsters so cities are walled and *everyone* learns to use knives, swords, archery, or other weapons and never goes outside unarmed.

It's been quite a while since the last traveler was there.

Yeah, it's LitRPG but I'm enjoying it.
