It's not how much I read, it's what I read. I read much more light fiction in the summer. While I've always known this, I don't take preventative action leading into summer by clearing the decks of longer, more challenging stuff, especially nonfiction, in process. And then they hang. I finish them eventually, but it doesn't do my comprehension or retention any favors. The same thing happens during the holiday season, but at least the gap isn't as long; I'm not in nearly as much danger of losing the plot entirely.
