I have four others in that series that I love equally, but Something About Eve hits all the religious and sexual taboos and pokes fun at them - that's exactly what I love when I want to read satirical fantasy.

I've assembled one of his books here for MobileRead readers in the Sony format, for anyone who's interested.

Remember: Mundus Vult Decipi, which is what Cabell concentrated on his his best fantasy works. I firmly believe this to be absolutely true and is thus a generator for my own humor.

Don

Don, I was just cutting up. Perhaps my favorite Cabell is the Coth section of the Silver Stallion. (I never was willing to pay for the Storiesende edition, myself, (I had a chance at US $750), and I like the Pape' illustrations, as well.

I also like those of the post Manuel I have read, particularly the Urban Nightmare trilogy (Smirt, Smith, and Smire) and There Were Two Pirates (which I personally think is the best "primer" for sampling Cabell's style).

I guess that's why i sometimes get in trouble around here. Like Coth at the world's end, "The others are wise, but I prefer the truth."
