I have one of those "rotate-in-the-middle" windows in my 45 degree bathroom roofline.
I never heard Velux as a common name for them.
I just noticed that mine actually
is a Velux.
I kind of like the European "tilt & turn" windows.
But in my kitchen I have one that can only open about 40 degrees because of the countertop.
A good old American "double hung" window would be much better.
