We disabled the ability to drag and drop text in Code View for precisely that reason. We left the user the ability to set an environment variable to go ahead and do it anyway, but absolved ourselves of any and all responsibility for the bad things that might happen.

I'm assuming you set that environment variable at some point?

Drag and Drop in Code View was disabled in Sigil 2.0.0 (actually we always intended it to be disabled; but we only found out our attempts to disable it were not working after users started reported crashes like yours).

We gave users the ability to turn it back on (at their own risk) in Sigil 2.0.1 by setting SIGIL_ALLOW_CODEVIEW_DROP=1 with an environment variable.
