There was a post on Reddit where someone mentioned that a new Sage is in the works but has been delayed until 2026.

I did find another Redditor who said a new Sage was in development from what a lil birdy had told them, but had been delayed to 2026. I contacted Kobo myself yesterday but the representative couldn't confirm one way or the other.

Thanks for both posts.

I am a happy KLC owner, but wouldn’t mind getting increased battery life. My daughter’s Clara HD is old, so she could inherit my KLC, and I get the spiffy new one.

With Kobo’s commitment to allowing us to fix things, I’d like to see a KLC update that includes replaceable battery and upgradable storage. I wonder if both models in question will address that commitment.

But my luck would be that Kobo mandates microSD Express cards just like Nintendo Switch 2. Those things are pricey! (Yes, I’m kidding There is no need for such fast read/write speeds with ebooks, though audiobooks might benefit from the read speed.)
