Can I ask if those allotments are being serviced with water, yet?
Sadly it is a yearly cost, you do get a water trough but they are shared between 10 - 20 plots, luckily the water trough servicing our piece of the site is right on the edge of my allotment.

Sadly here in the UK (well at least England where I live) the government/ councils don't really want people having allotments anymore, even though by law they have to provide them (as I mentioned in my other post) they try to dissuade people from taking them (by not informing the people on the waiting list when a plot becomes available, by not cutting the grass on the communal areas of the sites etc)

Why do they do this? Because they really want the land to build houses on, in my town there were 153, 000 residents living here in 2021, in the 4 years since then they have built homes/ flats with the capacity to house between 3,500 - 4,000 people, that's a 2.3% - 2.6% increase in population in just 4 years, and the building projects are nowhere near finished! So they are desperate for any land they can get, farm land, flood plain, allotments it's all under pressure
