Run the Hot Fix, reinstall KUAL. Install and activate an OTA blocker.

The primary issue is the eink screen and slow refresh rate. Trying to push the eink fast will also eat into the battery, on top of running the processor constantly running the emulator in the first place. A Kindle just simply isn't the right kind of device for this use. Can the processor do it? Yeah. Should it do it? Probably not. Will it be a good experience overall? Nope.
These kind of projects have largely died out on Kindle because it's just simply better and easier to use other hardware.
