The only advantage of a reMarkable over Scribe is privacy and ability to annotate PDFs without a server. Otherwise it's far worse than the Elipsa (i've had both). Also the Scribe is slightly better resolution. The notetaking on the reMarkable outside of annotating a PDF is like a sketch book. Also only network (WiFi or USB) I/O on reMarkable.
Eink is terrible for real time handwriting to text.
Android 8.x is pretty common for eink, which in any case is poor for Android apps. There is no telling without install if an app works, and then it might have bits with blank screens or fail on the next update.
Any eink 9.7″ mono screen might be only 150 dpi Pearl, not Carta of any kind.
My Nxtpaper 40 4G phone is better for notes than Sage, reMarkable or Elipsa (using a plain text Editor, finger tip and offline Gboard real-time handwriting conversion). Best for notes is the Nxtpaper 11 (non-pro) using either Gboard with an ordinary text editor of full version of Nebo. However the Nxtpaper 14 is best for PDFs.
