I saw that Calibre 8.6 now sets AZW3 as the default output format for Kindle, since MOBI is obsolete and all Kindles released in the past decade support AZW3.

I use Calibre’s 'Fetch News' feature a lot and love it. I've stuck with MOBI mostly because it was the default when I installed Calibre, and because when I tried other formats, only MOBI seemed to correctly group periodicals/newspapers into a single collection on my Kindle, where all issues of the same publication appear together.

Is there a better format for periodicals than MOBI? What have others found works best?
