Realistically I won’t have the patience to go the cable route as I push about 5–10 articles and posts every day. I also need the clippings to be saved in an open format that is saved on the device. I’ve loved the plain text setup with the Kindle.
I'm not sure if KOReader has a clipping limit. As for using Push to Kindle, one acquaintance of mine is using Push to Kindle to send files to DropBox from which he syncs them to his KOReader on his Kobo ereader. This should also work for KOReader on a Kindle as well. I haven't paid that much attention but from what I've seen, Push to Kindle generates an epub which is then converted to an Amazon format by using the email flavour of Amazon's Send to Kindle. For DropBox, the email is sent to your DropBox account's email address.

However unlike a Kobo or Pocketbook ereader, where installing KOReader is pretty trivial, a Kindle ereader will require being jailbroken before KOReader can be installed.
