Jellyfin is a Media Server (they call it a "Free Software Media System") I use since many years for my movies, TV Shows, and music. You can self-host the Jellyfin server for best privacy.
But it makes a pretty good job for e-books, too! At least for DRM-free EPUB books.
And you can have an
OPDS plugin, so you can search your library and download from it, using your e-reader.
Using a
Jellyfin Client, or just your
web browser, you can even read your EPUB books online. It’s actually not too bad at that, so you could read from your library without any extra reading software.
I simply rsync my Calibre Library to my NAS, and the Jellyfin server has access to that folder.
I simply love that "all-media-in-one" solution!
