All of the e-ink readers suffer from the page change flash.

The 505 has a metal body, the 700 is plastic. Both devices feel very well built. I have not handled a Kindle so can't speak to that.

I think the 700 has a permanent price reduction to $349. The 505 can be had for less than $299 if you look around a little bit.
