Do you take the roads home and keep a copy of them? Does the fire department know that you plan to clone them and their equipment to keep at home?
To me, owning an ebook (for those values of
own allowed by the license agreements forced on me) is different from borrowing an ebook.
I do not remove DRM from library books, Kindle Unlimited (KU), Kobo Plus (K+) or other loaned materials. Partly due my feelings about staying as close to legal as possible and partly due to, as Oscar Wilde put it, "
I can resist anything except temptation". After all, once I have the ebook stripped of DRM and in my library, I just might want to re-read it later so who am I hurting by keeping it around. Add in any other sophistries you care to think up.
I know many do not agree with my opinion on DRM removal but that's life.
