I think that applies to items that have been found on eBay but the buyer and seller somehow (not sure how they would do it) find a way to contact each other and make other arrangements. I see no stipulations on when or why a seller can cancel a Buy It Now auction. In this case a buyer would be finding the eReader via MobileRead, not eBay. But you may be right on the legalese, I don't know. I do know I can cancel the auction at any time. (And I know there are stipulations on when you can cancel a standard auction listing that already has bids, which is not the case here.) I also know that I've sometimes seen Buy It Now items simultaneously listed on eBay, Mercari, FaceBook and CraigsList.
