Hi,
I have a Kobo Clara HD which got jammed during a hard car break, but does not seem to have ant physical damage.
The reader was put in sleep mode before that and display is showing last book, page# and Sleeping. Bottom left shows some light stripes, but these cannot be felt on the glass.
The reader is not responding to anything, but when applying power and pushing the power button showed a screen glow (backlight I assume), when pushed again it went off.
When pushing longer the light started blinking white the turned solid, later went off, but nothing happens on the screen.
I opened up the reader and reinserted the power and flatcables, no change.
Also removed and read the SD card on a windows PC, I was able to copy all books, so that seems to be OK, tho I can't speak for the firmware image....
Reinserted the SD also no joy.
Please note there were no water protective blobs so that makes t easier for fixing.
Is there another layer under the top screen that could be damaged?
Or should I try to rewrite the image to the SD card?
If the latter then please send link for image and instructions to write it.
This is for a Kobo Clara HD (N249).
Any help would be appreciated
I tried short reset of 20 seconds and later the long reset off 60 seconds but still nothing happens.
Thanks, Jaap
