Since I don't have a Tolino Shine 5, I can't test if it scales or doesn't a svg wrapper. But it's hard to believe your device can't handle something as basic as an SVG container. Can you post a screenshot of your Shine 5 output?

And also do the following try:

1. Open Sigil and start a new .epub3 file.
2. Add any image to that epub.
3. With the command Tools/Add Cover... set the image you loaded in step #2 as cover.
4. Save the epub.

After that open it with Shine 5 and post a screenshot of its output. Perhaps Shine 5 has the same behaviour of ADE 4.x under Windows regarding svg wrappers (if so, is easy to fix your issue).
