Several months ago I had the same problem and posted here. It appears the culprit was Google Drive. I had to move the library out of my Documents folder which was getting backed up automatically Google Drive. It's now in a folder by itself which is not backed up to Google Drive. Now it takes a few seconds to open instead of 5 minutes.
