I typically only borrow books that I do not want to buy. My library is part of a regional collective and I have access to ebooks from 10 additional libraries with my local library card, so I can almost always find a copy of a book that I am looking for. The exception is book club books; we haven't figured out how to choose books that aren't on a huge waitlist and I'm the only ebook reader, so I always have the longest wait. I just buy those through iBooks so that they don't clutter up my other "bookshelves."

(I am the rare one that doesn't download my books. I have tried, but I am no longer interested in the subjectively tedious process of cataloging books that I may never access. I'm still moving and organizing my files of books from when I was determined to manage them all on my own, but in practice, when I want to read a book, I go back to the store account and download directly from wherever I purchased it.)
