I recently updated the firmware in my 11th Gen Paperwhite Signature Edition to 5.18.3. I never download books from Amazon directly to my Kindle. I always first bring them into Calibre, do a minor conversion to improve the look, and then transfer them to the Kindle. After the firmware update, I transferred some books to the Kindle and wanted to place the books in appropriate Collections. I usually do a search for the book using the author's last name. I tried that. They do not show up. I tried finding them by searching using words found in the titles. Still nothing. This has never happened before.

I will say that the next day the books were findable. The only thing I can think of it that perhaps now Amazon thinks it is a good idea of keeping the book hidden until it can complete creating a search index. I am aware of how new books sometimes cannot be searched through until a search index is created which can take some time.

It just irks me to no end that I can't find the book I just added to Kindle and start reading it then and there. I gotta wait.
