Ignored devices only applies to Calibre, and when Windows sees a device (that you don't want Calibre to use. eg my phone)

If the K is listed on the windows USB icon, something else may have grabbed it. You might see where it is in the Device Manager (Sorry, I just sorta look and Do. So I can't walk you thru)
