Sorry, but I'm going to stick with Edgar Rice Burroughs and Robert E. Howard, where things are believable. I'll stick with the Kangaroo Men of Gooli, or Soraks, or Thoats! That's believable.
Did you miss that the bathtub seems to be in the middle of a lake?
I think it's the magical power of intense reading joy and delight that protects the book.
