I wanted to get back into reading, so this year I returned to tallying my books read here and joined a local book club. I started 2025 with three books (plus one manga and one comic book compilation) in my currently reading list.

(Currently reading is opening and reading several pages with the intent to continue to read. Sometimes I remove books from this list because I think I will have to reread the beginning the next time I pick it up.)

In the last five months I:
* added eight books to my "Currently reading" list
* completed only six books
* finished only one of the four book club books (missed one discussion, one discussion was cancelled, and the third one is the current one.)

The week before the last book club meeting, I sat down to start the book and I downloaded and started a recent purchase (nonfiction). Yesterday, I tried to start the current book and downloaded a book I had removed from my current list six months ago (historical fiction).

I don't know why I'm so scattered right now. The only books I'm actually finishing are the ones I read when I'm eating (alternating cozy mystery series) and the Complete Peanuts collections. Last week, I had to wait twenty minutes for my son to come out after band practice, and I read the Count of Monte Cristo, the book I was in the middle of reading when I was invited to join book club.

I guess this is the problem with using a tablet for an ebook reader -- too many choices!

I might have to switch to logging time spent reading, instead of completed books, just to show that I'm accomplishing something!
