Yes, that is an undesirable consequence of the change to our own message box to allow for dialog expansion to see python function replace error messages more easily.

It is a delayed notification that just happens to launch in the middle of a potentially long load epub operation.

I will look into it on my return but for me this is low priority as it is nothing other than visual (ie. the load always generates that houglass but it is typically so fast it never gets a chance to show. The wait for you to hit the ok button is what makes it visible. No real change, just timing. As soon as you hit the button the progress hourglass goes away.
