Unhappy Manage Content Collections Weird Behavior

This has just started and I cannot seem to fix or troubleshoot it. When I am in the manage content/device area for the Kindle on Amazon and in the make a collection dialog it breaks. In the past I have made collections with two or three word titles. But now, let's say I want to make a collection named "Haruki Murakami" and what happens is when I name the new collection I get the same type-in dialog as always. So I type the first word. But then when I hit space the dialog closes but it does not save even the entered word. So it is not as if I hit return. Whenever I try to enter a space -- bingo, dialog closes. I have only been able to do this by going to notes and typing there. Then if I copy the resulting two words and the interior space I CAN simply paste into the dialog and close and save the rightly-named collection. My first thought was maybe the control or option keys were sticking. But they seemed ok. But before I would buy a new keyboard I went online and I checked the keyboard in three different online keyboard tests. When I hit space, all three tests show that I am indeed entering a space. I can hit control and other modifier keys over and over and no evidence of sticking. So I think buying a new keyboard would not help. Has anyone else seen this happen? Dunno how to proceed troubleshooting this!

Oh, I am using an iMac with the latest System and this happens the same way in Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
