I don't understand why on earth they make epub:type roles that duplicate aria-roles at all. epub:type requires a epub prefix namespace while aria-roles are built in. I wonder how many reading accessibilty screen readers grok aria-roles and how many grok epub:type attributes. My guess is aria-roles are much more often used and accepted.
