That's a crash in Qt (the toolkit calibre uses) in response to a color scheme change. Presumably you have automatic dark/light changing configured. Disable that and you should be fine. I am travelling so I dont have access to my mac right now so I cant try to reproduce, but since I havent heard any other bug reports of this I am guessing its something specific to your system.
