Hopefully not that they're going to lock down the tinkering capabilities of the Kobo line.

Absent any other information, shipping SSH is actually an improvement over the old method of exposing the telnet port, as I complained about earlier. In 2025, that would fail basic third-party security audits, and greatly increase the chance that a Kobo device with developer mode left on could inevitably join an army of IoT botnets.
