If you want to, install the latest calibre 8 portable and this plugin. See if it works. If not, go tot he last version 7 and try again and so on until it works. then you'll know the last version of calibre this works with and because you will have that version of calibre as a portable version, you can install the current non-portable version and keep that updated (if your system allows it).
