This is how I’ve done it:
- I’m using Linux so I’ve used ifuse to mount my device to my PC
- This has exposed all the applications’ documents folders in my file manager app. I believe that you can achieve a similar result on Windows by simply connecting your device with a cable.
- I have used Calibre’s “send to the folder” feature to send everything that I wanted to the appropriate documents’ folder.
- If it doesn’t work, you can send it to a folder on your desktop and then copy it’s content to the application’s folder on your iPad
- When I have a new book in Calibre, I connect my iPad to the OPDS server, navigate to the “new books” folder and click on that new book to download it.
My method may or may not work for you, please note that:
- I’m not constantly re-organizing my collection or updating metadata, so I can get away with the “new books” method without having to constantly re-upload or sync the entire collection.
- I have a Kobo Plus subscription and a library card, which means that most of the e-books that I read don’t end up in Calibre. If I bought 29 new books every day then I’m not sure if I was still happy with this way of doing things.
