Mmm, what I was saying about a figure 8 above is almost kind of right if you consider the core an "88" that you could fold down the middle and make it an "8".
In the diagram, green is the primary (actually primary and filament) and red is the high voltage secondary. The gray are the magnetic shunts that give an escape path to the magnetic flux if the secondary is shorted. If not for the shunts the primary would try to take a ton of power.
