Was the PocketBook a Verse or Verse Pro? If a Verse, it's pretty amazing that the screen compared favorably to the Kobo Clara BW, as it has lower resolution.
My main reason for preferring the PocketBooks over the Kobos is that PocketBook has Adobe ADE built in. So I can buy a book from stores that sell ePubs, download the small .acsm file, and then the PocketBook will download the ePub on its own.
As for KoReader... I tried it and didn't like it. I have a Pocketbook Touch HD 3 (basically the Verse Pro). Unless they downgraded the screen on the Verse Pro, this would be one of my favorite warm screens. (The Nook Glowlight 3 is the best warm screen eReader I own — specifically the screen is the best, not necessarily the Reader itself.)
Battery life has been extremely good on my PocketBooks. Better than the Kobos or any other eReaders I own, but I use the standard, built-in applications so that may make a difference. Maybe PocketBook and KoReader don't get along on power conservation.
Speaking of battery conservation. I turn my PocketBooks completely off. Within about three seconds they on and are opened to the page you left off. Unless that has changed in the newer PocketBooks, that's a great feature (in my opinion).
I've never seen a Libra 2 screen, but everyone speaks highly of them, so they must be really good.
