I fear that Kobo was not that careful about whom they chose to manufacture their readers. There is an American company (Albemarle) that could have supplied the maker with higher quality lithium (both for purity and energy capacity), but Kobo chose not to use them. Apple has use ALB lithium for many years. Next time we interview the head of Kobo, we can pose that question to them.
In the meanwhile, I am worried about when the global shipping aka supply chain system can get me an order for a Kobo Clara which I placed in April.
