Leaving aside whether Bionic reading is good/bad/pointless, I'm not sure whether what @0x6f677548 is requesting would result in a valid kepub.
As far as I'm aware the only thing which is supposed to be contained within a koboSpan is text content, i.e. not other tags. So every word in the book would require 2 koboSpans (at least?) which is probably a couple of orders of magnitude more than usual. With @DNSB's test book that would be almost 3 million koboSpans.
