They don't interupt (well, not that much) but they are there and mine seem to know when I'm down and need cheering.
Sometimes you can even prop your reader on them. :-)

Mine will always butt in, demanding attention, and just take it if you don't want to give it... And using them as ereader stand won't work, if the first is laying still (finally), the second will come and bite the first in the legs and a fight will ensue... Or, the second is finally sleeping, then the first will come and bite the second in the legs and again, a fight will ensue.
At that time I'll just remove both of them from my desk (where I have two! baskets, but somehow the one that is already occupied always is the most attractive one, and they are both exactly the same...) or couch and I won't have a reader stand anymore
