I can see syncing as a benefit if you have a Kindle at your place of employment and a different Kindle at home. Maybe not so much for a trek from downstairs to upstairs in your home, but to each their own. I supposed if I had multiple Kindles laying around and didn't really know what to do with them, I'd put one upstairs and one downstairs too.
