It doesn't give any details on the specific version of Kindle for PC required. If it does require a specific older version that would point to it just being a DeDRM wrapper like Epubor. If that is the case it should really be mentioned in their product info.

For now I am going to assume that it works with the latest version 2.7.1.

From the step-by-step description of how it works it appears that the book download needs to be initiated by their software. It is not clear whether that is just for user convenience in not needing to operate the K4PC UI or if that is crucial to how it works. It is possible that their software interferes with the way that K4PC operates, like the older methods that used to work for disabling KFX downloads.

I am certainly interested in the free trail next Monday to see how well it works, but I doubt I would ever purchase it. Knowing what version of K4PC is used, whether it works on newly published books, and seeing the results will likely give clues to how they are doing it.
